Dear GWP Friends,
At the end of October, the Global Women’s Project Steering Committee met in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
We accomplished so much in a limited amount of time and were blessed to share in Sunday School and worship with the Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren. We said good-bye to two members (Anke and Carla) and thanked them for their service, and we welcomed four new members (Katie, Sarah, Kim, and Anna Lisa)!

In honor of Thanksgiving this month, I will share a list of things I’m grateful for.
I’m grateful for:
- you, the women and men who support GWP through luxury tax donations, monthly donations, one-time donations, Mother’s Day Gratitude project donations, Lenten calendar donations, large donations, small donations – each makes a difference to us and allows us to support a variety of efforts to bring justice to our beautiful, broken world
- the organizations we partner with around the world who are making the world a better place by empowering women
- outgoing GWP steering committee members, Anke Pietsch and Carla Kilgore – for all the ways they contributed during their years of service and for the many ways they work for justice in this world
- incoming GWP steering committee members, Sarah Neher, Katie Heishman, Anna Lisa Gross, and Kim Hill Smith – especially for the energy of the two who are new to GWP (Sarah and Katie) and for the historical knowledge and deep wisdom of our returning members (Anna Lisa and Kim)
- the steadfastness of Sara White, continuing member of the steering committee, who always shares a new perspective and asks good questions
- the gracious hosting of Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren for our October meeting
- the wonderful article “The Luxury of Helping” by Jan Fischer Bachman in the most recent issue of Messenger celebrating GWP’s 40 years of steadfast work around the world
- the beauty of fall – especially the changing colors of the leaves all around me
- the chance to spend time with loved ones near and far – for all sorts of occasions, not just holidays
- the abundance of opportunities to serve
What are you grateful for?
