MOTHER’S DAY GRATITUDE PROJECT

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and Global Women‘s Project is excited to kick off our annual Mother’s Day Gratitude Project, an opportunity for you to honor a woman you know and love by celebrating and supporting women around the world. Rather than buying more material gifts for your loved one, express your gratitude with a gift that keeps on giving. Your donation allows us to fund women-led projects in Indiana, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, and India focused on women‘s health, education, and employment. In return, your chosen recipient(s) will receive a lovely, hand-written card indicating that a gift has been made in her honor, with a brief description of GWP.
To participate in the Mother’s Day Gratitude Project, mail your donation to:
Global Women‘s Project
c/o Emily Matteson
1405 Ashwood Drive
Modesto, CA 95350
Remember to include your name(s) and recipient’s name and address. You may also make memorial donations, which will be honored on our website: https://globalwomensproject.wordpress.com. Gratitude cards will be mailed in time for Mother’s Day if you send your request to Emily by May 3rd, 2016. After the 3rd, she will mail them as soon as she receives them.
2016 LENTEN SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE
Thank you to everyone who used our Lenten Calendar this year! We hope that through your Lenten Calendar readings you have gained inspiration, insights, and information about the realities of women and girls around the world, about our partner projects created in response to these realities, and about your opportunities for personal reflection and action. What surprised you? What did you discover from your own activities and “tax collections”? We invite you to share your stories via Facebook, email, letter, or whatever communication medium works for you. Contributions from your Lenten Calendar can be sent to:

MARCH MEETING HELD IN HARRISONBURG
The GWP Steering Committee held our March in-person meeting in Harrisonburg, Virginia this year at the lovely home of Carol Leland. Special thanks to the Linville Creek Church of the Brethren for letting us join you for worship on Sunday! During the weekend we welcomed new steering committee member Carla Kilgore, and celebrated the three years of service of Pearl Miller, who shared her last meeting with us in Harrisonburg.
Questions on any of the items you read about in this email? Send us an email, we’d love to hear from you!
Blessings,
GWP Steering Committee
