GWP honors the life and work of Lynda Taylor.
Lynda Taylor was the founder of the Domestic Violence Alternatives project in Marshalltown, Iowa and the first director of the statewide Coalition Against Domestic Violence in Iowa. She set up the shelter for women and children and expanded the program to be a Sexual Assault Center for victims of assault in Marshalltown and 4 surrounding counties. Lynda was a mentor to former GWP steering committee Myrna Frantz, who supports GWP’s work in Lynda’s honor.
