A gift from GWP (along with New Community Project) recently turned into sewing machines for the women’s cooperative in Narus, Southern Sudan!

This gift was made possible by the Northview Church of the Brethren, in honor of Phil and Louie Baldwin Rieman.

The women in Narus will share skills, time, ideas and work with these new machines, owned by the whole community. The women’s cooperative in Narus is an important partner of Global Women’s Project. Their relationships and collaborative work empower women and benefit the entire community. Mothers are able to send children to school. Families are able to be more self-sustaining. This community’s past has been determined by war and displacement. This community’s future will be determined by women’s love, commitment and ingenuity.
