But remembering that in the midst of taking Jesus seriously, we also take Jesus JOYFULLY, we will host an afternoon tea time on Tuesday, July 6, at 4:45pm at our booth. Hear dramatic readings of “Birthing a New World,” the speech that gave birth to GWP. And to lend a joyful, festive tone to the tea, we invite you to wear clothes, circa 1978! So dust off those bell bottoms and wing out your hair, because following Jesus isn’t simply a serious task, it is also a joyful calling!
Even if you don’t have the 1978 clothes, we hope you join us for tea as we explore the serious and joyful work of GWP! We look forward to seeing you in Pittsburgh.

Having a hard time finding bell bottoms. Can anyone bring a pair of size 8s to share? (Who knows if size 8 was the same in 1978). My husband said I should wear a diaper, since that was the year I was born…I’m still leaning towards bellbottoms.
Thanks to all of you who stopped by the GWP booth in the Exhibit Hall at the Church of the Brethren Annual Conference in Pittsburgh, PA, earlier this month. It was great to meet and talk with several of you! In addition to our display area which included beautiful banners, photographs, buttons, bookmarks and more, we hosted our first afternoon “Tea Time.” Drawing a crowd of 30 or so people, we had an opportunity to share a cup of tea and update people on the current projects GWP is supporting on behalf of women throughout the world. We plan to host a “Tea Time” at Annual Conference again next year in Michigan and invite you to join us!
