Happy belated International Women’s Day! We hope you had an enjoyable weekend earlier this month celebrating women in your life and around the world. Did you know that GWP offers free resources for worship services and Sunday School/small group lessons centered on women and their empowerment? Start planning your Mother’s Day service or small group session on our website!

The Steering Committee is excited to announce that we have issued three one-time grants to special projects, made possible by your generous support and donations! Learn more about these one-time projects:

The Madagascar Prison Ministry – Madagascar

This program supports women and children living in inhumane conditions while imprisoned in Madagascar. From their last update, the project completed work at the Morondava prison where the sewage system backed up nightly  and rain water poured into the children’s sleeping area. The project now turns to living conditions in the Fort Dauphin prison where women live in cramped quarters with no toilet, only a pail. The group will build a completely new structure with a new septic system and toilets.

Women in Crises Engagement Programme (WICEP) – Nigeria

A comprehensive livelihood development initiative designed to empower vulnerable women in conflict-affected communities of Plateau State, Nigeria. This program targets 100 women-headed households in Barkin Ladi and Mangu Local Government Areas with the aim of reducing poverty by 30% over three years through mentorship, skills training, asset transforms, and trauma healing.

Code to Inspire

Founded by a female Afghan refugee born in Iran, Code to Inspire is the first advanced computer coding school for women in Afghanistan. The group aims to narrow the gender gap in educational participation and empower Afghan women to become active contributors to their communities. By providing them with the necessary skills to excel in the technology sector through free educational programs, CTI opens doors to economic opportunities and cultivates a sense of confidence and independence.

Sincerely,

Maddie Dulabaum, for GWP
